As a member of JCI you are part of a truly international organisation. Most JCI members will tell you that the International area of opportunity is one of the best aspects of being a member and once you've been to one international event you'll be hooked.
In order to meet JCI's aim of fostering greater understanding among people of all cultural backgrounds, JCI chambers form twin relationships. JCI London's twins are Stockholm, Paris, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Berlin. Twin chambers host twinning weekends, when members from twin chambers are invited over to enjoy the sights and culture of the twin city. We also meet up with our twins at international conferences and share ideas and best practice.
This year Twinning Weekend in London will be in September 2015
As a capital city, JCI London is an enthusiastic partipant in the European Capitals Meeting (ECM). We even hosted the event in 2008. The focus of the ECM is for members from European capital chambers to meet and address problems that are commonly found in capital cities. This is achieved through seminars, training sessions and networking, although there is always plenty of time for sightseeing and socialising! The ECM is known for its intimate, informal and friendly atmosphere. With a smaller number of participants it is easy to really get to know each other throughout the weekend.
JCI London regularly sends large delegations to JCI International Conferences. In 2010 members attended events in Sweden, New York, Brussels, Denmark, Austria and Norway. One member, Daniel Luna, even did a Grand Slam, attending all Area Conferences and the World Congress. He was recognised for this achievement, along with only 6 other members worldwide, at the World Congress by the JCI World President.
Bursaries are available to help members attend events outside of London and we often make special arrangements to get members discounted travel and accommodation rates. Speak to the international director for more information.
